IRS extends filing deadline to April 17, 2012

The IRS has announced that the filing deadline for the 2012 tax season will be extended to Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Because April 15, 2012 falls on a Sunday and April 16, 2012 is Emancipation Day (a legal holiday in D.C.), the filing deadline has been moved to the 17th. Not that an extra 2 days are going to make a lot of difference to most people, but they may come in handy for you procrastinators out there.
